Oh man, I am so made of failure.

I was so beat from yesterday that I just plain conked out and didn't wake up in time to join Mister S. for the spring hike. He ended up going alone. I felt so bad.

He got some great pictures, but he's very sore. Which actually makes me a bit glad I didn't end up going after all, since my bad foot might have been angry at me for doing so. I have a tendency to forget I'm overdoing it until it -really- hurts.*

*stage 3 reflex sympathetic dystrophy. I think I'm pretty lucky though. So far nothing worse than pain and an inability to move my toes much anymore. But, I can still walk and I can get a shoe back on my foot now. For awhile, I was wearing my brace constantly, and I'm really glad I can wear a normal shoe during work, because I can't imagine maneuvering around the classroom with it on. It just means I pay for it at the end of the day though. :)

That is my passion and my goal that keeps me fighting my RSD/CRPS. I hope to make it back to my favorite 45 minute hike in (a bit longer coming out) that included a waterfall hidden between two mountains. Oh, we used to camp and climb all over down there.

Sorry you missed out. Feeling your relief however at seeing him in pain and being grateful that your not.

Hugs,
Christine

Hello! Nice to meet someone else who has and understands RSD, although I wish that understanding didn't come from actually having to -have- it. I wouldn't wish this on anyone. :/

It's so frustrating, isn't it? I was bounced from doctor to doctor to doctor and test after test. In that time I was told many things it -could- be, but that they weren't sure. Once they finally caught it, it was already in the third stage.

Huge kudos to you for all you do to get the word out! I just checked out your site and you are inspiring!

I don't know if I responded, and I wanted to make sure, so if I did already, well then here is another one, if not, well you know. LOL.

While I have been to the average number of doctors an RSD/CRPS patient sees before being diagnosed (which is said to be 5), I feel very blessed that I saw all of them in the first 5 months. Then I landed with the most amazing Pain Management Doctor. I can honestly say that I have not had to suffer the horror stories that I have read from other posters. It's because of their stories, and my knowledge that decent doctors are out there, that I am trying to spread awareness through my site. By the way, thank you so much for the compliment about it. It means a lot to me to hear praise on it.

Hugs.
